Shannon York, BS, RVT, RDCS

Shannon is the principal clinical ultrasound specialist and founder of SKY Vascular. She entered into cardiovascular sonography in 2008 after graduating from the University of South Carolina in Biological Sciences in 2004. She has worn many hats in the field including sonographer, lab supervisor, educator to sonography students and physicians, and consultant for a nationwide ultrasound education and training firm. Shannon is highly regarded in the fields of TCD, advanced arterial and venous testing, and echosonography and is committed to staying up to date on advancements throughout the world of sonography. She currently resides in Columbia, SC, and continues to see patients in several local hospitals.

Kristin Falcon, BS, RVS, RCS

Kristin has over 16 years of experience in both vascular and cardiac ultrasound. While she excels in all ultrasonic imaging modalities, she is most passionate about her work as a Transcranial Doppler Sonographer. She currently owns and operates a sonography staffing company in Louisiana with a heavy focus on cerebral vascular testing. She sums up her passion best with the statement: “The ability to provide physicians with real time data about their patient’s cerebral circulation is critically important to the direct care they ultimately receive.”

Laurinda Burrell, RDMS, RVT

Laurinda has been firmly established in the medical field for more than 25 years, initially graduating from LSU Medical Center School of Nursing in 1994 with an Associate of Science in Nursing. She subsequently practiced nursing as a critical care nurse and held various leadership roles throughout a 17-year span. In 2010, she went on to complete an accredited certificate/internship program in general ultrasound. She is well versed in many types of ultrasound scans including both imaging and non-imaging TCD. Over the years, Laurinda has been able to use her expertise to educate other associates, collaboratively write policy and procedures, and formulate and implement TCD specific protocols.

Kim J. Hodge
BS, RVS

Kim earned a degree in Psychology in 2007 and shortly thereafter earned her Bachelor of Science in Vascular Ultrasound, at which time she began practicing as a neurodiagnostic tech, performing a full array of cardiovascular ultrasounds, musculoskeletal and nerve conduction studies, and EMG/EEG exams. In 2010, Kim became the first dedicated neurovascular ultrasound specialist and educator at a major hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, when she and her mentor created and developed a Neurovascular Ultrasound Lab within the hospital system. She has been performing Carotid Duplex and Transcranial Dopplers (TCD) for the past 11 years and is currently pursuing her Masters in Allied Health Administration.
