On-Site Training

Basic Information Pertaining to all In-services

  1. Standard training packages are offered in 1-, 2-, and 3-day packages, however we would be happy to accommodate longer training sessions based on request.
  2. Trainings last a minimum of 8 hours per day with variable start and stop times based on your lab’s schedule within reason.
  3. We offer all of our didactic training material in advance of the in-service through a password protected secured portal on our webpage so the participants can study ahead. We also allow continued access to participants after the training concludes. We offer PowerPoints, sample protocols, interpretation guidelines, articles and book references, and other helpful study material. The link will be provided at the time of scheduling.
  4. Educational support provided to participants after training concludes for 3 months. More information about additional educational support may be requested here.

Training Structure

An in-depth interview on the front end is conducted which will include an initial questionnaire form (best completed by lab manager or lead sonographer) and/or a conference call. The information provided is used to create an agenda tailored to the needs of the lab. This input is imperative in determining the structure of training each day.

Structure of trainings vary greatly depending on these key points:

• Number of participants

• Existing clinical knowledge and experience in topics being covered.

• Educational background of participants

• Number of topics being covered

• Timeframe allocated for training

• Ability of participants to attend all or part of training vs. being divided up into rotating groups

• The customer’s input on how they would like to structure each day

Recommendations

It is recommended that all participants attend all or most of the in-service so that each participant gets as much exposure as possible. This typically requires some thinning of the lab schedule and/or additional staffing.

CME’s are awarded based on participation.

We recommend two participants at minimum be grouped together vs. solo training to allow for hands-on practice.

We suggest no more than 2 trainees at a time in a clinical setting in which patients will be involved. When possible, we recommend scanning patients with pathology in the latter half of the training.

When a mixed skill level is present, we suggest organizing groups based on level of experience.

If we feel that the structure or goals of the training are unrealistic, we will inform you and hope that changes can be made to ensure that the training is successful.

Training Content and Goals

1. We ensure that the staff has a full working knowledge of the ultrasound system they will be using prior to our departure. To the best of our ability, we also make every attempt to fully set up your system based on your desired preferences. This includes protocols, reporting, basic settings, and patient workflow.

2. We cover a variety of topics related all of our offered services. Each topic we chose to touch on would be covered with full didactic review and intensive hands-on practice. Please select the desired link on our services offered page for a more detailed description of our services/topics.

3. We attempt to leave all participants feeling comfortable with the performance and interpretations of the examinations they will be expected to perform.
